Age Policy

Last updated: December 2024

Minimum age requirement

Deckloop is designed for students and learners of all ages. However, to create an account and use our full features, you must be at least 14 years old.

  • 14 years or older to create an account
  • Under 18: We recommend using Deckloop with the awareness and permission of a parent or guardian
  • Local rules: In some countries, a higher minimum age may apply for creating an account or consenting to data processing. Where that applies, you must meet the higher age requirement or have permission from a parent/guardian as required by local law

Why we have age requirements

Our age requirements are in place to help us comply with applicable child privacy and safety rules, including:

  • Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States
  • UK Age Appropriate Design Code
  • Data protection laws that set special rules for children and minors (including GDPR/UK GDPR)

Using Deckloop as a student under 18

If you're a student under 18, Deckloop is designed to be safe to use for learning. We:

  • Do not show advertising
  • Do not sell personal data
  • Keep study data private to each user
  • Do not include social features that could enable contact with strangers
  • Focus on educational content and learning features

Parental guidance

We encourage parents and guardians to:

  • Be aware of the tools your child uses for studying
  • Review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle data
  • Contact us if you have any concerns about your child's use of Deckloop

School and classroom use

Teachers and schools may use Deckloop with students. In educational settings, the school's policies on technology use should apply. We are happy to work with schools to support appropriate use.

Reporting concerns

If you believe someone under 14 has created an account, or if you have any concerns about underage users, please contact us immediately at support@deckloop.io.

We may update this Age Policy as regulations change or as we add new features. Significant changes will be communicated through our website.
